Keeli

Keeli initially resisted the idea of personal training, feeling self-sufficient in fitness due to a background in sports. However, postpartum challenges left her feeling trapped and unable to lose weight. With a busy schedule and no daycare, she struggled to find time and motivation to work out. After joining a four-week challenge, she won eight more weeks of personal training, which proved to be transformative. The training helped her develop a consistent workout routine, improve her diet, and most importantly, address the mental and accountability issues that had previously hindered her progress. Keeli lost 20 pounds in five months, regaining her pre-pregnancy weight, and now feels confident and empowered, attributing this success to the mindset and accountability provided by the personal training.

**I wanted to hop on here and talk about personal training for a second. It’s something that I never felt like I needed. I grew up playing tribal sports. I worked out all the time. Didn’t feel like I needed to spend money on a coach. I could do it myself until I was postpartum, and I felt trapped in my body. I felt like I could not lose any weight. What I was used to doing wasn’t working. I was struggling with mentality, with building habits.

I work full-time. My husband’s in physical therapy school. We don’t use daycare, so my husband’s at work all day long, and then he comes home and is in school all day long. Then he comes home, and then I go work all night until 11, and then we get up and do it the next day. So I felt stuck. I felt like I didn’t have time to work out. I didn’t know how to work out. My body doesn’t look the same. I was on the edge of breaking.

So I’d been following this Slay Squad for a while, and I’d been on the fence about doing the personal training with them. Honestly, I just could not justify spending money when I knew how to work out. I knew what to do; I just wasn’t doing it. So I did a four-week challenge with them, and the winner of the challenge got free personal training.

So I thought, okay, maybe I can win this challenge. So I went as hard as I could and did end up winning the challenge. And so I won eight more weeks of personal training, and those 12 weeks were the best 12 weeks for me. I built the habit of getting up early, going to the gym. I figured out how to fit it into my schedule. I figured out how to eat. I had never used to—I would just restrict, restrict, restrict, and if I felt like I overate, I would skip a meal. If I felt bloated, I wouldn’t eat as much, and I was stressed about food.

One of my biggest tips for anyone on the fence about personal training is that the biggest struggle people have with fitness is not lifting weights. It’s really not even eating healthy. It is mindset and it is accountability, and those are the two things this Slay Squad gives you, and that is what has helped me the most.

I mean, this whole time, I’ve told myself I can do it myself. I can do it myself. For years, I’ve told myself that, but did I do it myself? No, I didn’t. I didn’t do it until I hired a coach, and that is the best money I’ve ever spent. And I feel so confident in my clothes. I’m back. I’ve lost 20 pounds, back to my pre-pregnancy weight in just five months. And I feel like, after working with them, you don’t have to spend this money for the rest of your life. I know how to do this now because of them, and so I’m just so thankful for the Slay Squad.**
