I’m Chelsey Hallblade. I am the owner of Slay Squad Fitness Coaching. We do nutrition coaching and Phoenix personal training. Today I wanted to chat a little bit about our team of coaches, our background, our areas of expertise, and how we can specifically help women to meet their different training and fat loss needs. I started the Slay Squad about 6 years ago when I had previously really struggled with fat loss with learning how to lose weight in a healthy way, I could lose it, but I didn’t know how to do that without feeling extremely restricted. And I had hired a trainer who actually did a lot more harm than good for me in regards to food and really hurt my relationship with food, hurt my gut health, hurt my hormones, followed an extremely rigid meal plan, and it took me a couple years to come out of that. Um, and when I did come out of that, I had a lot of success and my success came from a lot of trial and error myself. It took me about 2 years to optimize my hormones, my gut health, and get to a healthy relationship with food while still loving my body. But a part of that journey was hiring a fitness coach myself, my 1st ever online fitness coach. I thought about it forever. I went back and forth, like, do I want to do this? And I finally was like, yes, I want to hire a coach. Hire a coach. He helps me actually learn to eat more while maintaining my progress, and that is when everything shifted for me changed for me. And that’s when I myself started coaching. It just came really organically because people started just asking me for help. I realized how many women need this, need this service, need help with fitness, need help with accountability. And so the Slay Squad Fitness coaching and Phoenix Personal Training was born. We help with a variety of things from mindset to foundational health, to nutrition, to Phoenix personal training. So your workouts. And a little bit about my personal background is that I’m actually a registered nurse. I did that for 9 to 10 years and I honestly thought that was going to be my career. I thought I would work in medicine forever. I was in the neurodepartment and then the emergency room. And while I did love it, it was also really, really hard. Anyone in the medical field, especially in acute care, understands how challenging and stressful and hard it can be. And at the same time, while I was working full-time in the hospital, I started the Sleigh Squad, Phoenix Personal Training, and online nutrition coaching. So I was technically doing both for a while. As my business started to grow, I did end up reducing my hours in the hospital. So I was only working 2 days a week. And then all that changed when I got pregnant and I had my 1st daughter in 2020. After I had her, I decided not to go back. I decided I did not need, um, to go back even 2 days a week. I went PRN, which is just a couple shifts a month. And I did that for about a year. So I just wanted to keep my license active, but I really went all in on my Phoenix personal training and Slay Squad Fitness and Nutrition Coaching, and I just put everything I had into that. Um, because I realized that’s where my heart was, that’s where my passion was, and it was growing. It was busy. It was taking my time and I really didn’t hate both. So I ended up quitting at the hospital, going all in on this. So my background, again, is I’m a registered nurse with a lot of experience, but I saw so many gaps in just health and healthcare system. And then even in personal training and the fitness industry, there was at the time online coaching was very new. And it wasn’t what it needed to be. I feel like there’s been so much growth in the space and coaches that have all different areas of knowledge and expertise and there’s so much good information out there now, but at the time it was a relatively new thing and it was very restriction focused. There was a big heavy push for meal plans and cheat days, and that mentality that is where I started that I think keeps you stuck. It can help you lose weight, but it’s very difficult to maintain it because the process is strict, rigid, and frankly, just miserable. And so that’s where my coaching came into play. Yes, I want you to lose weight. I want you to look amazing. I want you to love your body, but never at the expense of your mental health and not being able to eat well. Enjoy food, eat out, like you have to have a level of both. And yes, there’s always going to be sacrifice to lose weight, but it doesn’t have to be completely restrictive and cut out everything you love. There has to be some level of balance for sustainability, and that is always the goal. Yes, weight loss. You want to see progress, week over week, month over month. absolutely. But what’s the point in doing that as fast as possible if you can’t maintain it? So that’s where my coaching expertise comes in, helping you lose the weight, but in healthy, sustainable ways, so this is the last program that you’re ever going to need. This is the last, we should be the last coach you ever have to hire. The Slay Squad with Fink’s personal training and online nutrition coaching. We should be the last one. So a little bit about what my coaches do and there are different areas of expertise. So, I am a certified holistic nutritionist, so my area of expertise is nutrition. That is where most of the problems come from. You need to understand how to eat, and how to train. It’s not just training, training alone, by itself, it doesn’t matter how hard you work out in the gym. You’re never gonna look good. If you don’t get our top of your nutrition, so that’s the 1st thing to look at. So I’m a holistic nutritionist looking at the whole person. How do we actually make changes into your diet habits in a way that works for you, your life, and you can stick with? And then I’m also a pre-impostnatal specialist. So what that means is I’m certified to train women during pregnancy and postpartum, so it’s a little more specialized. And the reason I win that route, with my area of expertise is just being a mom. I just realized how little, um, people could really help me when I was pregnant and how little even personal trainers, um, and on the coaches knew about coaching someone during pregnancy because there are modifications you need to make, there’s a difference in how you need to eat. Women, there’s not a lot given to us when we’re pregnant postpartum. And so being able to learn that for myself, that’s where it started. I just wanted to know. I wanted to know how to prevent diastasis recti, how to have a strong pelvic floor, how to prep my body for labor and recovery, how to love my body after kids and be able to, essentially, I know people hate that term bounce back, but get back in great shape relatively quickly. And really that’s what you do all 9 months of pregnancy, not what you do immediately postpartum. So that became something that I just really dove into and learned a lot about and then became certified in. And so the majority of my clients are basically who I used to be. They are nurses, healthcare workers, struggling to lose weight or get fed, managing that while working 12 hour shifts and I help them lose weight. And they are, um, moms who are either pregnant or usually in the postpartum phase, maybe breastfeeding, and they want to love their body. They wanna look good after kids. So that’s my area of expertise. I also have 3 other coaches on my team right now that are incredible, that have all been with me for years now, that are experience and have different areas of expertise. So coach Lindsay, she is a former respiratory therapist. So she has experience in the medical field as well, but she now coaches for me full time. She is a certified personal trainer. She’s a certified nutritionist, and she’s also a pre-post, you know, specialist. And then she has some other small certifications, I believe, on sleep and recovery and stress management. So, she’s amazing. She works with a lot of my healthcare workers, navigating night shift, maybe trying to wait. She is absolutely incredible. Clients love her, and they often re-sign and stay with her for years because she’s just that good. Another coach on my team is Coach Kayla. I have known Kayla for years as well. She’s a former elementary school teacher. She is just the sweetest, most genuine soul I’ve ever met in my life, and she puts her heart and soul into her clients. She cares about them on such a deep level. She’s a big part of our our community is what it is, is she just cares about those relationships. So Kayla is also similar to me in her areas of expertise. She is a holistic nutritionist, and she’s a pre-imposed NATO specialist. So she is a mom of young ones as well, and similar to me, I think she wanted to be able to train moms, and that area is just a that time period in your life is just a little more sensitive. So she leaned into that as her area of expertise as well. And then lastly, I have coach Alex on my team. Alex is incredible. She has a few different areas that she is really strong in. She is, I think, 42 right now, but she kind of says fit over 40. So she helps women going through menopause or perimenopause or just feeling like they gained weight with aging. Um, and if she is a bodybuilding certified coach, a macro certified coach, and you’ll have to forgive me, I don’t remember her other sorts, but she has a couple other. Oh, hormones. And she has a hormone certification. And those areas are so important and so needed because hormones, especially into your older age, well, yes, you can always lose weight even dealing with hormonal issues, understanding them, and being able to provide suggestions and ways to help make that easier help improve your hormones is so important, especially in your late 30s, early 40s. So that’s Alex’s area. She is also a pro bodybuilder. So another group that she coaches is if you’ve ever thought about doing a, um, bodybuilding show, but maybe you don’t want to be told that you have to take any kind of steroids. Alex is your girl. She’s about doing it all naturally, building that muscle. And she just looks amazing. She looks amazing, better in her 40s than she did in her 30s than even her 20s. And so she gives hope to a lot of women that like, hey, yeah, that you just can’t look good in your 30s and 40s. It’s BS. You absolutely can. You just need the right plan. So I have a few different coaches, um, very different um, personalities in our squad, but really, really amazing. So those are the few coaches that you can work with on our team with Slay Squad Nutrition Coaching and Phoenix Personal Training, and we are the best we do. We are the best with Phoenix personal training. So if you’re looking for help, you want to do this online. You want to do this with women who get it. We’re your girls.
