This is Chelsey with the Slay Squad Fitness and Nutrition Coaching and Phoenix Personal Training. Today we are going to talk about why most diets and workout programs fail. And how we can help you avoid the failure and the burnout of starting over and over again by work with phoenix personal training. One of the main reasons that diets, nutrition plants, and workout programs fail is women will oftentimes go way too hard too fast. They’ll take a more extreme route because they saw something work for their friend, they’re impatient, or they just want to see results. ASAP, so they pick the program that is gonna get them the most results, the fastest, regardless of whether this diet plan is healthy, sustainable, or fits their lifestyle. And while this may work very temporarily, it never works long term. If you do an extreme method, let’s say eating a 1000 to 1200 calories a day, you’re gonna lose weight. You going to lose it rapidly. You’re probably gonna be excited about your results. But you aren’t going to be able to sustain that. And it creates this mentality of on and off the plan versus a balanced lifestyle that you can actually stick with. And so the 2nd you hit your weight loss goal or you just burn out, you tap out. And you quit. And then when you quit, you typically don’t know how to get in a position of maintaining the progress you’ve made, so you just go back to your old habits. There’s no in between. It’s extremely on, extremely off. Most people that diet gain the weight back, often times the courtesy, five to £15 on top of that. So, we wind up fatter and fatter year over year with every dieting attempt. How do we avoid this? First of all, we shouldn’t be opting for the most extreme program out there. You don’t need to be in the gym every day. You don’t need to do cardio for hours and hours. You don’t need to be eating 1,200 calories a day forever. Most women can eat a lot more than that and still see progress. You don’t need to cut out whole food groups. You don’t need to avoid eating out. When you do that, you create the on off mentality that sets yourself up for failure. With the Slay Squad Phoenix personal training, we customize our nutrition programs for clients to avoid this. So, everyone’s situation, lifestyle, amount of calories they can eat, it’s customized. And we make sure that when we put you into calorie deficit, it’s a slight to moderate deficit, not an extreme one. That is where you need to be, in order to be able to not burn out too quickly, see consistent progress, but also not rebound hard when you’re done. Another reason that programs and diets fail women is simply impatience. When you do opt for something for you for a lifestyle to build muscle, shed fat, you get impatient because you’re used to the quick methods. You’re used to the quick fixes. So when you don’t see changes, week one, week two, you get so easily discouraged, and you give up. I see this all the time with women. They are doing the right things, and the plan is, the plan’s working. I wanna kind of give you some realistic goals to set for yourself, of how much weight you should be losing on a weight loss journey. Anywhere from a half pound to a pound a week of weight loss, is good. That is a healthy, sustainable range for most women. If you have a large amount to lose let’s say, 60 pounds or more, it can be a lot faster. You could lose maybe two pounds a week, especially at the beginning, but eventually it will slow down. But for many people, that half pound to a pound a week feels so slow. When really, that’s a healthy way to go. It’s a way that they’re gonna actually be able to stick with it. Your own impatience is getting in the way. The switch that you need to make that we help all the time with our sliced squad, fitness, nutrition, coaching, and phoenix personal training, is helping women have that long term mindset. We are actually changing our patterns, our behaviors, our relationship with food, the way we make choices, so that the changes that you make will come with you forever, and you have to be patient. If you are patient and trust the process, you’re gonna be amazed. We do things the right way. And our clients lose an average of 20 pounds in four to six months. I personally do not view that as slow. Many women are so used to the instant changes. that they view it as slow, and you have to change your mentality. You have to get in the right headspace. And you have to decide that this is something you are going to do. You are going to stick with it, you’re gonna make it happen for yourself, so that you can build a body that you love, and you can sustain. Another reason, so many diet programs and fitness programs fail women, is they don’t teach you what to do once you hit your goal. So you know how to lose weight. Maybe your goal is to lose 30 pounds. You lose the 30 pounds. You are thrilled. You don’t know what to do after your program ends. What do you do when the diet’s over? Maybe you achieved those results by cutting out breads. and carbs and foods that you actually don’t want to cut out forever. So when you’re done, when you reach your goal, naturally, you want to add those back in. You’re like, I don’t need to restrict anymore. I can add those back in, add them back in. You don’t know what to do after the diet. After the cutting base. What do you do? The answer is not to have the on off mentality that so many women do. Either you’re dieting or you’re doing whatever the heck you want. When really, the answer is in between, and it’s on changing your lifestyle. One thing that we do with the Slay Squad fitness and nutrition coaching, and Phoenix personal training, is work with women to get their calories back up to maintenance. So, what I mean by this is helping you through a reverse diet. So once you’ve lost the 20, 30, £40, whatever your goal was, now we’re going to reverse that at you, which is the process of slowly increasing your calories, not too slowly, won’t take too long, but we just don’t do this all at once, and we definitely don’t revert back to the old way of eating that caused you to get overweight in the 1st place. We help you slowly understand that food is not the enemy. increase it into a place where your body is maintaining a new maintenance calorie level, where you have a little more flexibility, a little bit more food freedom. It can be so healing with your relationship with food. I’ve experienced this myself, as have 100s, if not 1000s of our clients now, going through reverse, and getting that flexibility and freedom, and being surprised, like, whoa, I really can’t eat this much. and lose weight or maintain my weight. So there is a process after the cutting phase of the diet, that people just don’t understand. They skip over, and it helps you to understand where your maintenance is, because most women are either in a surplus where they’re getting away or extreme deficit where they’re losing it quickly. They don’t know how to be in the middle. They don’t know how to have that moderation. That is a big part of the step. You can’t skip that step unless you want to just gain the weight back. So, I like to explain that there are almost three phases when you come to work with ads at the Slay Squad of Phoenix Personal Training. We’re going to help you complete your deficit. After the deficit, you’ve hit your goal. We are going into a reverse diet. That’s step two, get calories up. Step three is maintenance. We want you at maintenance for a few months, still tracking your food, and then slowly learning to mindfully and intuitively eat. You follow this process, you are going to be able to keep the progress versus just having this on off mentality with your diet. And then regain. That is not what we want. So if this sounds good to you, if these sound like things that you’re struggling with, go ahead and fill out one of our forms at the SlaySquadcoaching.com. We are a fitness and nutrition coaching company and Phoenix personal training, and we will help you to implement this process, where you actually can be successful on your weight loss face. You can be one of the women that loses the weight, keeps it off, loves how they look, without all the harsh rebounds. I look forward to helping you on your journey.
