Hi, my name is Chelsey and I am the owner and founder of the Slay Squad Phoenix AZ Personal Training and Online Fitness and Nutrition Coaching. And today I want to talk to you about the most important thing when it comes to achieving fat loss, which is the outcome that 99% of people coming to us are looking for. They looking to maybe build some lean muscle mass, but primarily lose weight or lose body fat. Um, that has just been accumulating over the years. We help people with all kinds of goals, from needing to lose 5 to £15 of body fat to having over £100 to lose. So we have quite a variety there. One of the things that people come to us, a mistake that they commonly make is they are going hard when it comes to their workouts and they are making that the number one thing that they focus on. They are hitting the gym five, 6 times a week. They’re taking workout classes, they’re wearing their Apple watches and seeing how calories they can burn. They’re doing everything they can to work out extra hard. And while training is important with Phoenix AZ Personal Training, we, of course, understand that. And if you want to build a body, build muscle, build a body you love and build muscle, it’s very, very important that you focus on that. However, if you are focusing heavily on workouts and training, but you are neglecting nutrition, it does not matter how hard you work out. You can work out harder than the person next to you, harder than anyone, harder than the women that you follow online that look incredible. And still not look any better because you are not eating in alignment with fat loss. And this is something that is hard for many women to understand. They’ve been conditioned since childhood even, to really think of, um, working out as the sole way to lose weight or like to burn calories and, um, society does teach us like, oh, running, walking, all these things. Cardio is how you’re going to burn calories. Yes, of course it burns calories. But what people don’t understand is that it is so easy to overconsume calories and just to eat back what you burn. We don’t even have our clients worrying about their calorie burn during workouts, and I want you to switch your mindset to starting to think of your training program. As a way to build muscle. Building muscle mass, not as a way to simply burn as many calories as possible. I don’t even want you to worry about your calorie burn during workouts. And I understand that this is opposite of the way so many women think about exercise. But once you do this, it is freeing, but you’ll also get better results because you have to think of your training program, so our training program with Phoenix AZ Personal Training is to help women build muscle and get strong. So I want you to flip that way of thinking and start viewing your program with that as the goal. If you can do that, you will realize that you probably enjoy training a little bit more. You’re not just out there trying to sweat as much as possible, but you’re going to get better results. You need to look at your diet, your nutrition, as where the weight loss and the fat loss is going to occur. Until you can understand that, you’re never going to lose fat, and you’re never going to keep it off. So, you need to flip that switch. Nutrition is where your fat loss is going to happen. And the tracking you should do is not tracking how many calories you burn during a workout, but tracking how many calories you put in your mouth. every single day. The average American eats about 3,500 calories a day, which is way more than what they need. And most people just simply have no idea how many calories they’re actually consuming through food and drink. They think that they’re eating, this is something I hear all the time, women being like, oh, I eat 1200 calories a day. But yet they’re 50, £60 overweight. They don’t. I promise you they don’t need 1,200 calories a day. They probably eat closer to 2000 to 3000 calories a day which is absolutely crazy. Just our idea of calories and portions. is very, very off. And if I can help women to get on top of that and see that, you’re gonna have a much better time with that loss. So, one of the primary things we help you do is lose weight sustainably, and that’s what we do with a slight squad of Phoenix AZ Personal Training and online nutrition coaching. You cannot neglect that nutrition piece. So what I want you to do, if your goal is to, is start learning how to track your calories. Yes, we love full macros, protein carbs fats, but let’s start simply with calories. If you don’t know how to check calories, you are forever going to be stuck. So just simply start with that. You can download our app, you can sign up for, um, one on one Phoenix AZ Personal Training, where we can really dive into this with you and set these protocols for you. I hold you accountable, teacher, everything, or you can start with our Thrive membership, with Phoenix AZ Personal Training that is going to, um, be 29.99 a month, and you can use our app, but we will set your nutrition protocols by human, not by a calculator. And just start familiarizing yourself with how to log. Just start familiarizing yourself with how to weigh out your food, reading food labels, what they need, what a portion actually looks like for your body size, and your goals, and start doing that regularly. You will quickly be amazed at how many calories are in foods that you eat, and how small portions are of foods that are hyper palliatable, like chips, granola, anything with sugar, anything overly processed. Usually, they’re high calorie, but low volume. So it’s so easy to overconsume those. And really, if you don’t get on top of your nutrition, you are going to be forever frustrated, forever working so hard to brand those extra 300 calories in your workout and then wondering why you’re fatter and fatter every year. And it is because you never learned how to track your food and get a top hour nutrition. And we want to help you do that. We wanna see you succeed. So, with a slight squad, Phoenix, personal training, and online fitness and nutrition coaching, if you do nothing else. Nothing else, and your goal is fat loss. You need to track your food. Even if you don’t work out, you can lose weight. I don’t recommend it, working out is obviously good for a variety of reasons. And if you have the goal of having a toned body, having a little muscle definition, it is very much essential. However, if you’re talking about the scale going down, fat loss on your body, the first thing you need to worry about if you do nothing else is getting on top of your nutrition. Put yourself in a consistent calorie deficit. Understanding how much you’re actually eating, and then also, the next thing to worry about. First is accurate calorie deficit, but number two is enough protein. Because when you lose, weight, if you stick to a calorie deficit, you will be losing weight. But when you lose weight, you want that weight to be fat. You don’t want it to be your muscle tissue. As you age, you want to preserve muscle mass at all costs. And it can be hard to do. So, the way you do that is by making sure you get enough proteins when you’re in that deficit. So, super important. So those are the two things to look at. Start with just getting used to how to log your food, how to trash food accurately. I know sometimes I hear from people, like, I don’t want to log my food, it’s work. Of course it’s work. But it’s also a ton of work that gets you absolutely nowhere to spend years and years on every kind of workout under the sun, burning all these calories, every year just getting a little heavier. And I don’t know about you, but that sounds miserable. At least put in work, that’s going to get you results, right? Anything good in life’s gonna take some work. Suck it up, buttercup, and let’s get it done. Let’s get those results. If you’re putting in work, working towards something that’s effective, that works, it’s all worth it. Of course, it’s your health, it’s your body, it’s your confidence. It’s worth it. What’s not worth it? is focusing on the wrong things, putting in work that just leads you in a spiral. Doing excess cardio, yeah, it’s gonna burn calories, but if you aren’t eating alone of calories to begin with, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter how many calories you burn. So that’s the first place to start. If you need help with this, this is what we specialize in. This what we do every single day. We’ve helped women lose over 25,000 pounds. If you want to be a part of that. Fill out a form today, and we will reach out and get you started with Phoenix AZ Personal Training the online nutrition coaching.
