Let’s chat about Phoenix personal training and the best way to achieve your fat loss and fitness goals in the year of 2026 so it’s a New Year so many people are feeling excited, feeling motivated, wanting to lose weight. A majority of people have some type of fitness or weight loss resolution going into the New Year’s, but very few people will actually achieve this, so I want to talk about what you can actually do and practically do in order to achieve all the results that you’re hoping for this upcoming year because everyone wants to lose weight. Everyone wants to get achieved. Everyone wants their dream body. But unless you have a plan, unless you have a specific roadmap that you know, that you can execute on, if it’s your life and you know we’ll get you there, really, all those dreams and goals are pretty worthless, so we need to have a plan, we need to know what actually yields weight loss results and how to stay consistent with this and not just for three weeks, not three ones, but actually for a lifestyle change. So that’s what we’re going to talk about today. I’m Chelsea, I run this s Squad Fitness, coaching, which is Phoenix Personal training. All done online for personal training and fitness and nutrition coaching. We specialize in fat loss for women, and we have helped women lose over 25,000 pounds at this point and keep it off for good. And so we have a little bit of experience in this department and we want to help you be successful. So the first thing when it comes to fat loss that you need to do is have realistic goals and expectations. It is realistic to want to see weight loss and want to see quite a bit of change in three to six months. It’s not realistic to want to lose 10 pounds in a week or 20 pounds in a month. That’s probably not going to happen, and the more realistic you can be with yourself, the more you will be able to stick with something and not feel like a failure if it’s not quite as fast as what you originally wanted a good rule of thumb as far as how fast weight loss can go is about a pound of fat per week that is great. Great speed of weight loss. Now, if you are heavier, let’s say you have over 50 pounds to lose or, you know, you’re in that higher weight range, you have a higher BMI. You would be considered very overweight, then you might see results even quicker, than you might be able to see more like two pounds of weight loss a week, maybe even more at the beginning, getting started. Now, if you’re very lean and you only have, let’s say, 10 pounds to lose, you’re already on the leaner side, you’re considered a healthy weight, this might be even slower and you might be more around that half a pound of weight loss a week. And that may sound really slow, but when you’re already lean, you are going to see every pound so much more than if you’re not lean, you’re overweight, you are not going to really see this first a few pounds, you’re going to have to get into those higher numbers of weight loss. Before you really start to see the results. So a half a pound a week, if you’re lean, is actually great results, you’ll be seeing it in the way it close fit, and in your pictures. So the first step is, yeah, set a realistic goal. Understand how long it’s actually going to take you so that you don’t get to discouraged and give up. The second step is to know how many calories that you need. So many things distract us from what we actually need to focus on, and we actually need to focus on for weight loss is calories and protein. And we can talk about that a little more later, but primarily calories, calories are going to determine if you lose weight. If you are trying all these diets, if you’re eating healthy, if you’re eating clean, but you don’t know how many calories you’re consuming, you’re going to be so incredibly frustrated. You need to know your maintenance amount of calories, and that’s the amount of calories it takes your body to not gain weight and not lose weight and then you need to cut from there, so you need to drop it anywhere from 300 to 500 calories from your maintenance. That is where you’re gonna put yourself for this calorie down set. Now, there is a big difference between a weight loss and fat loss. Weight loss can mean that you lost water weight, that you need to go to the bathroom or that you went to the bathroom. that you started to eat a little bit better. So many things can cause your body to go up and weight, which you could also be losing muscle mass. That could cause weight loss. You want to lose, not muscle, not bone, density. You want to lose fat. So to ensure that you lose fat and not harder muscle tissue, so you can get that toned and lean body, you are going to need to also focus on proteins. You’re gonna focus on calories, you’re gonna focus on protein. If you eat at a calorie amount, you are going to lose weight. If you also hit your protein, that weight is going to be fat and not muscle or bone, and that is what we want, especially as we age, you don’t want to be losing muscle, you don’t want to be losing bone. That is the two nutritional things that you’re going to start with that you are going to really hone in and focus on, and through Phoenix personal training, we can 100% get you there if you allow us to set those numbers for you if you’re struggling to know where to begin. The third step is understanding that cardio is an amazing tool. It can absolutely assist you in a fat law school, but you actually should be focused on weight training, and if you are not first weight training to allow yourself to build muscle or to keep the muscle while you’re in that calorie deficit, that needs to be the first thing you implement. So you’re going to implement a training program, weight training at least three days a week, three days is enough if you’re a beginner, absolutely. And you’re going to follow a program. So this is not extreme cardios. This is not flies. This is not hit classes. This is a way strength treating program to help your body put on the muscle that it needs, in order to develop that shape that you want and make fat loss so much easier, boost your metabolism as you get bolder. Cardio is going to be something that we add in to help assist with the fat loss. Cardio is amazing for your heart. It’s great for overall health, but we don’t like to look to it as the first method of losing weight. Just view it as like an extra an add on. You’re going to focus on the weight training first. cardio second. What we do with a lot of our clients with Phoenix personal training, online fitness and nutrition Coaching is we have them focus on a step count goal. If you hit a step count goal, that’s plenty for most of us hitting that seven to 10,000 steps a day. It doesn’t have to be specific cardio, don’t need to be running unless you enjoy that, unless you want to do that, then all the more power to you. But if you don’t want to run, if you don’t want to do hit classes, if you don’t want to read your bike, I don’t want to do that. You don’t have to do it. Just hit a step count, go on walks if you need a little more movement. Get up and move around the house. If you have a set into your job, maybe you need a walk pad, but all these things are going to help assist and fat loss, but don’t make cardio like the only thing that you’re doing in order to achieve that weight loss and I promise you’re going to be a lot more successful in the long run. The next thing that you need to focus on is ditching the all or nothing mentality. If you want to be successful in fitness goals in 2026, you need to forget the all or nothing mentality. You need to forget that you’re either all in or you’re all out to screw so many people up. If you go a little bit over your calories, who cares? If you maybe don’t hit your protein goal one day, who cares? It’s not time to say, screw it. If you miss one workout, it’s not time to say, screw it. Okay, can you get in your other couple workouts a week? You know, if you go over your calories, okay, can you be really on it the next day? You don’t need to punish yourself, you don’t need to say, screw up for the rest of the week. You don’t even need to say screw up for the rest of the day. You just need to be like, okay, like, what’s the next best choice? Because you are one choice away from getting back on track. That’s the mentality you have to have. You are one choice away from getting back on track and really your mindset is everything. It’s not enough to have a workout program and have nutrition. It’s not enough. You need people around you that hold you to that higher standard. You need the encouragement and support people hyping you up and being your cheerleader, but you also need people who are willing to give you that accountability and that tough love and to call you out when you are not doing that.
